Reptiles are ectothermic vertebrates covered in scales or scutes. They include lizards, snakes, turtles, crocodilians, and the tuatara. With over 11,000 known species, reptiles are found on every continent except Antarctica. They range from the 16mm Brookesia micra chameleon to the 6-meter saltwater crocodile.
