Birds

Feathered, flight-capable, and found on every continent — birds are the last living dinosaurs.

About Birds

Birds (class Aves) are warm-blooded, egg-laying vertebrates characterized by feathers, toothless beaks, and lightweight hollow bones. With over 10,000 species, they range from the 5cm bee hummingbird to the 2.7m ostrich. Birds have conquered nearly every habitat — from the deep ocean (penguins) to altitudes above 11,000m (Rüppell's vulture).
